A lot of Green Street Scholars must be asking what are our CTE classes. CTE stands for Career and Technology Education. There are three CTE classes offered at Green Street: health, urban agriculture, and construction design management. In these classes, scholars are taught things like alternative energy in the form of solar panels, wind turbines, and biotech. By taking and passing these classes, Green Street gives each scholar 3 college credits a semester. When you receive these college credits, it helps with the amount of time you will eventually spend in college. These classes help students to become college and career-ready. To be able to take these classes, you cannot be behind on high school credits, and you have to be passing all your classes. Ms. McCauig plans to expand Green Street CTE classes. In the future she wants to offer wood shop, carpentry, plumbing, and electricity.
