Green Street Academy had its second homecoming the week of October 31st, 2016. GSA high school students participated in a week of celebration that included dressing down and grade level competitions. On Monday 31st, scholars were able to wear their Halloween costumes. One of the most popular costumes was a cat, and you had to pay three dollars to dress in your costume. On Tuesday 1st we had twin day, where most people dressed up. To dress up on Twin Day, you needed to pay one dollar. On Tuesday afternoon, the high school went outside to have a powderpuff (girls flag football) game, and grade level relay races. On Wednesday, we had Way Back Wednesday, where most people dressed as celebrities, or people from the ‘90s. You needed to pay a dollar for this day as well. Wednesday afternoon, we had our pep rally, which was very fun. On Thursday, we had picture day, where you had to look very presentable in your uniform. On Friday, we had pajama day, which a lot of people dressed up for in onesies. To dress down, you paid a dollar for this as well.

After school Friday evening, we had our second homecoming dance. The theme was Candyland in the dark and Ms. Pitchford and her advisory worked on it, made posters for it, and helped to design all the decorations. The homecoming tickets were $7 and the money from the tickets went to the 9th grade class. There was food provided, drinks provided, and glow sticks. There were also professional pictures being taken if you paid the money for it.
